  • What does LPC mean?
    Licensed Professional Counselor. Amanda completed her Master's in Clinical Psychology then fulfilled 18 months of training to complete her licensure in professional counseling through the state of Texas in Feb 1998.
  • Do you work with couples?
    No, I do not. However, I have great experience helping people enhance their relationships by working on themselves. I've had more success helping marriages by working with one of the parties. I'll only see one person in the couple.
  • Do you see clients in the office?
    No, I had my own office for over 10 years and am looking to offer my services to a wider network by only seeing virtual clients.
  • How do you handle medication?
    As a licensed therapist, I do not have the authority to prescribe medication, but I possess extensive knowledge of various medications and their effects. When I believe that medication could be helpful, I will offer recommendations. However, I respect and support clients who choose not to take medication and will explain the potential benefits and drawbacks. Many of my clients have experienced considerable progress without medication. Additionally, I am willing to communicate with physicians who are prescribing medication to my clients and provide feedback.

  • What if my teen or child refuses to come to therapy?
    I always say, "Then you come." Again, working with only one person in the relationship can change the relationship. I can give guidance as to how to react to their behavior, and suggestions to move the family forward.

    If you don't see your insurance listed, please contact us and we will do our best to verify your coverage. We also offer cash services.
